We applied FPCA to 20 years weekly average Fecal Coliform measurements from 15,000 sites in six Canadian provinces. The mean function showed average bacteria levels for the same weeks across all sites.

We applied FPCA to analyze ASP data at 2,341 coastal sites in six Canadian provinces over 20 years, excluding NL due to insufficient data. For PSP, the data from 1,466 sites in the same provinces, excluding PE and NL for similar reasons. Currently, there is no relevant DSP data. Biotoxin levels in blue mussel or soft-shell clam samples varied mainly in overall amplitude or seasonal changes, quantified as FPC scores, which indicate toxin characteristics at each site.
